Ronda Rousey Prepares To Make UFC History
This weekend on February 23rd, Ronda Rousey will
make UFC history when she faces off against Liz Carmouche. Rousey is the first UFC Women’s
Bantamweight Champion, and this will be her first title defense. It will also mark the first time in the
history of the UFC that female mixed martial artists will be featured. As an indication of just how important
this fight is, the UFC has given Rousey and Carmouche main event status. That’s right, these two women will be headlining
UFC 157! If you aren’t excited
about this, then you have probably never seen Ronda Rousey or Liz Carmouche
fight. They are two warriors and
more than qualified to carry the card.
Rousey is the first true superstar in women’s MMA, and she is
leading the charge for the acceptance of women’s MMA by the mainstream. Her record currently stands at 6-0 with
all six victories coming by way of 1st round armbar submission. She appears to be completely
unstoppable. On February 23rd
we will witness the next chapter in not just the career of Ronda Rousey, but
the future of women’s MMA. Be sure
to tune in and witness history. In
the meantime, check out the first episode of UFC Primetime: Rousey vs.
Carmouche. These women are
definitely ready for battle!
