In Remembrance of Kru Yodtong Senanan
The world lost a truly great man on Friday with the passing
of Kru Yodtong Senanan. As the
Founder and Grandmaster of the famed Sityodtong Muay Thai Camp, Kru Yodtong is
unquestionably the most influential man in the history of Muay Thai. Through his tireless commitment to the
sport, he produced 57 Muay Thai champions and shaped the lives of countless
others all across the world. Yet, he was so much more than just a teacher of champions. Kru Yodtong was a builder of great
men and women. His teachings
transcended the sport of Muay Thai and served as the guiding principles from
which to lead an honorable life with a warrior spirit. He lived a selfless life in the service
of the less fortunate.
His wisdom was unparalleled, and his heart was made of gold. He saved the lives of countless orphans
from the streets of Thailand, and he showed hopeless people that there was
hope. The world we live in is a
better place because of Kru Yodtong’s life.
Though we can never hope to replace Kru Yodtong Senanan, we
can honor his life by continuing on his mission. By spreading the power of martial arts, we can make the
world a better place. There are no
words great enough to express our gratitude for all that he has done. Let us end simply by saying, thank you
Kru Yodtong Senanan. We will carry
on your teachings to the world. We
will honor your life.
