Inside the Evolve Fight Team

The Evolve Fight Team, Asia's top fighting team, is representing Singapore in the largest MMA event in Asia, Martial Combat Fighting Championship.  The first event kicks off this coming Wednesday and Thursday.  The first 3 members of the Evolve Fight Team to do battle are Leandro Issa, Mitch Chilson, and Eduardo Pachu.  Held at Resorts World Sentosa, the Martial Combat Fighting Championship will be broadcast by ESPN StarSports to 350m viewers across 24 countries. 

Headed by the fierce Brazilian-Thai pair of Professor Rafael Gordinho and Kru Chatri Sityodtong, the Evolve Fight Team is 100% ready for the big battles ahead.  With Rafael's world-class ground knowledge and Chatri's elite striking expertise,  they combine the best knowledge of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Muay Thai to lead the Evolve Fight Team into battle.

Mitch "The Dragon" Chilson (MAIN EVENT for May 13)
Mitch had a very tough weight cut today.  He spent over 3 hours in the sauna to lose approximately 4 kilos for the weigh-in.  Thankfully, Mitch made weight on his first try.  He has trained extremely hard for what is the biggest fight of his career.  He underwent an intensive 12 week training program to reach peak performance, fitness, and technical knowledge.  Mitch trained 6 hours per day, 6 days a week.  He is in the best shape of his life - physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually.  The Evolve Fight Team preparations rank with the best in the world, utilizing the best practices from Thailand, Brazil, and the US.  Mitch trained hard in Muay Thai and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu with our World Champions and elite Instructors.  He also utilized the FightShape Program to enhance his strength and conditioning.  A strength and conditioning expert, Mitch actually developed the FightShape Program that is used by the Evolve Fight Team today.  Mitch has an extremely tough fight against current K-1 Taiwan Champion Zhang Jing Xong.  They will be fighting for the Martial Combat Fighting Championship SuperFight Title belt.  This fight will most likely end up being a stand-up war with big bombs thrown.  For this fight, Mitch's cornermen will be Rafael Gordinho, Chatri Sityodtong, Toy Sityodtong, and Nuengpichit Sityodtong.

Eduardo "Edu" Pachu (MAIN EVENT for May 12)
Edu spent about an hour in the sauna and also made weight (73 kilos) on his first try.  Edu trained 12 weeks for this fight as it will be the biggest fight of his career.  He is fighting K-1 Superstar and European Muay Thai Champion, Ole Laursen.  Edu practiced a lot of Muay Thai and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in preparation for this fight.  This fight will likely be a mix of stand up and ground.  Ole Laursen is very deadly and possesses serious KO power.  They will be fighting for the Martial Combat Fighting Championship SuperFight Title belt.  For this fight, Edu's cornermen will be Rafael Gordinho, Chatri Sityodtong, and Zoro Moreira.

Leandro "Brodinho" Issa
Brodinho spent only 30 minutes in the sauna.  He also made weight on his first try (67 kilos) at the official weigh-ins today.  Brodinho underwent the standard 8 week Evolve Fight Team program to prepare for this fight.  Under normal conditions and a strong fitness base, it takes approximately 8 weeks to prepare for a fight.  Brodinho focused heavily on Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu with a secondary emphasis on Muay Thai, and Boxing for this fight.  This fight will most likely end up being a ground war.  Brodinho is fighting against China's top wrestler.  For this fight, Brodinho's cornermen will be Rafael Gordinho, Chatri Sityodtong, Zoro Moreira, and Almiro Barros.

After the Evolve Fight Team completed the official weigh-ins, they attended the Martial Combat Fighting Championship Press Conference together at Resorts World Sentosa.  Over 20 national and international media were present with ESPN StarSports anchor Steve Dawson leading the fighter presentations.  The room buzzed with tangible excitement and adrenaline.  Martial Combat Fighting Championship is Asia's largest MMA event and will be broadcast to 350m viewers across 24 countries.  After the press conference, everyone headed down to the actual venue for pictures of the fighters and ring girls in the cage.  As cameras flashed and clicked away, the crowd was visibly excited and fired up for the upcoming event.  Afterwards, the Evolve Fight Team went for a quiet Italian dinner and fueled up on pasta, an excellent complex carbohydrate for athletic performance.
