Muay Thai Tip of the Day!

Here is a Muay Thai Tip of the Day from one of our Muay Thai Instructors at Evolve, Daorung "Papa" Sityodtong. This tip is directed at those Evolve Muay Thai students in Level 2 or higher (who have been approved for sparring classes).

"If you ever find your partner shifting his/her weight unevenly, then fire a roundhouse kick into the leg that has most of the weight on it. 9 out of 10 times, you should be able to land it solidly and cleanly if you time it correctly. The logic is simple. When your partner has his/her weight on a certain leg, his/her ability to raise that leg for a block in a timely manner is greatly reduced. This simple fact is also the reason why it is important to have an evenly weighted stance at all times. If you do not believe me, try it out lightly with a friend. It is an old Sityodtong trick that we learned at a very young age. And it works every time!"
