A Warrior Code

At 35 years of age, Vitor Belfort is one of the most accomplished mixed martial artists in the world.  It was 16 years ago that Vitor made his professional debut, and shortly thereafter he won the UFC 12 Heavyweight Tournament.  He was still just 19 years old, but he had earned his nickname “The Phenom”.  Following his time in the early UFC, Vitor had a highly successful run at PRIDE FC before returning to the UFC to claim the UFC Light Heavyweight Championship.  Vitor is still one of the top ranked middleweights in the world and competing in the UFC.  His career has had its ups and downs, but he has always remained a force in the world of mixed martial arts.

In a sport that many more fail at than succeed, Vitor has managed to remain relevant for 16 years and still competes at the very highest levels of the sport.  During his career many bright stars have come and gone, but few still remain.  How has Vitor Belfort maintained such longevity in a career filled with so many legendary wars?  There is no clear answer to such a question, but it likely has something to do with Vitor’s lifestyle.  He lives the life of a martial artist.  He abides by a strict warrior code.

Listen to Vitor recount his warrior code in the below video.  This is how Vitor has remained at the top of the mixed martial arts world for 16 years.
