Evolve University: Ground and Pound From Full Mount

In order to compete on the highest levels of mixed martial arts, a fighter must be well versed in all the primary disciplines and positions of mixed martial arts.  It is no longer good enough to be a specialist in a single discipline.  If you have any weaknesses, a good fighter will expose them.  At Evolve University, we offer all the necessary disciplines and techniques that are needed to become a well-rounded fighter.  You can learn world championship techniques in Muay Thai, boxing, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, and wrestling.  We also offer an extensive library of MMA specific techniques, which focus on combining all disciplines into one fluid mixed martial arts style.

In this video, Olympic wrestler and Head Coach of the Evolve Fight Team, Heath Sims, teaches one of his favorite ground and pound techniques from the full mount position.  This technique incorporates elements from Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, wrestling, boxing, and Muay Thai.  If you are able to secure a full mount position in a mixed martial arts fight, you need to be able to capitalize and cause significant damage.  Ground and pound is the name given to the style of fighting that utilizes striking on the ground.  You can use punches and elbows from this position to finish a fight via KO or TKO.

Check out the excellent MMA tutorial below and get to work on developing your ground and pound techniques.  For more world championship MMA videos head over to www.EVOLVE-UNIVERSITY.com.  You can also head over to one of our Evolve MMA locations to attend one of Singapore’s best MMA classes taught by the renowned Evolve Instructor Team.
