UFC Headed to Singapore!
Get ready Singapore, the biggest mixed martial arts event in
the world is coming soon! This
past Thursday the UFC officially announced that it will hold its first event in
Singapore on January 4th, 2014. Although the fight card has not yet been completed, the
venue is confirmed for the beautiful Marina Bay Sands. With a seating capacity of just 5,000,
you can bet this event will sell out fast.
The UFC’s Managing Director of Asia, Mark Fischer, had this
to say about the event, “This marks a bold step for UFC’s expansion in Asia and is the first of a
series of events in Asia planned for 2014. After kicking off the year in
Singapore, our fans can expect several other UFC events around the region on
the docket next year, including two more fights at the Venetian’s Cotai Arena
in Macau.”
This is great news for the continued growth of Asian MMA,
and it will provide an exciting opportunity for regional fighters to showcase their
