Everyone Should Train BJJ

Yes, despite his uncanny striking ability, even the great Anderson Silva dedicates a significant amount of his training time to Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.  In this modern era of mixed martial arts, a fighter simply cannot have any weaknesses in their game or they are guaranteed to be exposed.  As a mixed martial artist, it is your job to become proficient in all the primary disciplines of the sport and then some.  Leave any stone unturned or try to cut any corners, and you will be left behind.  The sport is in a constant state of evolution and only those with an open enough mind to keep up with it will continue to be successful.

In this video, Anderson Silva gives us a peak inside one of his recent training sessions with BJJ wizard, Fabricio Werdum.  Silva also discusses the undeniable legacy of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu to not only Brazilian fighters, but also the entire sport of MMA.  Simply put, if you want to be a mixed martial artist then you better be spending a lot of time training the art of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.
