In Memory of Ramon “The Diamond” Dekkers
The world of Muay Thai lost one of its legends yesterday
with the passing of Ramon Dekkers.
During his long career, Dekkers amassed an impressive record of
186-33-2. He was the first foreign
fighter to compete successfully in Thailand, and he helped spread the sport
of Muay Thai in his home country of Holland. In 1992 he became the first ever foreign born fighter to
earn the Thailand Fighter of the Year Award. He was a true legend of the sport, and his accomplishments
will not soon be forgotten.
