Rickson Gracie's Life Lessons - Just Like You
In terms of MMA folklore, there are few that loom larger than Rickson Gracie. As a member of the legendary Gracie family and son of the great Helio Gracie, Rickson was born into Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. At the age of 18, he received his black belt, and at 20 years old he won his first professional fight. This was in 1980; long before the term mixed martial arts even existed. Over the next 20 years, Rickson fought sparingly, only accepting challenges that he deemed worthy. In 2000 Rickson fought for the final time, submitting Masakatsu Funaki. He retired with a perfect 11-0 record.
