Inside the Oklahoma State Wrestling Room
When it comes to NCAA Division 1 wrestling, Oklahoma State
University is as big as it gets.
Since the team’s inaugural season in 1914 they have claimed 34 team
national championships, 134 individual NCAA championships, and 213 of their
wrestlers have earned All-American honors 425 times. Their all time dual meet record stands at 1021-113-23. In the sport of wrestling they are as
close as it gets to a dynasty.
Oklahoma State University wrestlers are
also pretty adept at transitioning to MMA. The list of former Oklahoma State wrestlers who have made an
impact in MMA includes Randy Couture, Mark Munoz, Johnny Hendricks, Jake
Rosholt, Daniel Cormier, Muhammad Lawal, and Shane Roller. That is a pretty impressive list.
