Like Water: Anderson Silva

“I am not the best. I just believe that I can do things that people think are impossible.” – Anderson Silva

Anderson Silva has once again shown the world why he is unquestionably the greatest mixed martial artist of all time.  At UFC 153 this weekend Silva moved up to the light heavyweight division and made quick work of a very tough Stephan Bonnar, winning by TKO in the first round.  It is a truly amazing experience to witness such greatness inside the Octagon.  There is no one in the sport that can do the things Anderson Silva does.  He is in a class of his own.

If you have not yet had a chance to check out the Anderson Silva documentary “Like Water” do yourself a favor and set aside an hour to do so.  In a sport filled with a wide range of characters and personalities, Anderson Silva stands out as one of the truest and most dedicated martial artists there is.  Rather than a fighter, Anderson lives his life as a martial artist, and his current position in the world of mixed martial arts is a direct reflection of that.  Very rarely is the world of sports treated to athletes like Anderson, and the opportunity to get an inside look at his life and thoughts is one that should be taken advantage of.  His influence on the sport will live long past his career and it is hard to imagine any one ever being able to dominate the sport in the manner that he has.  Take the time to listen to what he has to say, study his style, and admire his work.  Check out the full “Like Water” documentary below.
