Injured Soldier Finds Inspiration Through BJJ

Tyler Anderson is a decorated U.S. Army veteran who served his country on two military tours in the Kandahar region of Afghanistan. Tragically, on Tyler's second tour he was injured by a land mine resulting in the amputation of one his legs. Still a young man, Tyler found himself at a crossroads; scared and unsure of what life as an amputee would bring. There is no doubt he struggled to come to terms with his disability, and it would have been very easy to give in to the limitations it placed on him. Just think of how many times we have skipped training or missed work over the most minor of injuries or sickness. Tyler Anderson is not this type of person. Through a fantastic program called the Wounded Warriors Project, Tyler was introduced to the sport of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu as part of his rehabilitation program. Through practicing Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Tyler has found the motivation to overcome his disability and the confidence to live his life without limits. Check out his story below, and believe in the remarkable power of martial arts to transform your life for the better.
