Our Muay Thai classes, which run 7 days a week from the early morning until the late evening, are generally 1 hour in length. The classes all begin with a focused warm up session to prepare the body for rigorous training. The warm up is very important for avoiding unnecessary injuries.

Following the warm up, our instructors will lead the class into a specific series of Muay Thai drills and exercises. During any one session you can expect to go through some Muay Thai pad work with one of our World Champions, heavy bag training, shadowboxing, and specific striking combinations. The techniques covered run from basic to advanced, depending on the level of the class you are attending.

The Muay Thai classes at Evolve MMA are divided according to level of experience. All beginner students will start at Muay Thai Level 1. In the Level 1 classes, students are given an introduction to the fundamentals and basic techniques of Muay Thai. You will learn how to correctly throw punches like the jab, right cross, uppercut, and left hook. You will also be taught elbow strikes, knee strikes, and Muay Thai kicks. These fundamentals will be taught in conjunction with basic stance, movement, and footwork.

Advancement to the higher level classes will be determined by the instructor team. During training they will evaluate your technique, discipline, work ethic, and conditioning. Once they are confident you have mastered the Level 1 curriculum, you will receive a promotion and official certification for the next level.

In Level 2 training, the focus is on combining all of the basic techniques you learned in Level 1 into fluid striking combinations. You will learn how to combine all of Muay Thai’s weapons into purposeful striking combinations. At this point, you will also start to learn some basic Muay Thai theory including counterattacks, feints, set ups, and fight strategy.

Once you have advanced to Muay Thai Level 3 your training sessions will increase in intensity, and you will be subject to a more freestyle oriented training session. The combinations will become longer and more advanced, requiring higher levels of skill and conditioning.

For those students who wish to take their Muay Thai training to the next level, we also offer sparring sessions.  Admittance into the sparring sessions is based solely on the instructor team’s discretion. Sparring sessions are a great way to test your progress and bring your skills to the next level. All sparring sessions are closely monitored by our instructors, and the number one priority is always on safety.

All students are required to put on protective gear before sparring.

For students who have demonstrated the dedication and passion to compete in Muay Thai competitions, we have the Evolve Muay Thai Competition Team. The team is selected after an intensive tryout, which we hold periodically throughout the year. The tryouts are always very well attended and the competition for selection is very high.

Members of the Evolve Muay Thai Competition Team have access to private team training sessions, and they are prepared by our world champion instructors to compete in local and international Muay Thai competitions. This team is for the truly dedicated and passionate Muay Thai student with a strong desire to compete on the highest levels.
