UFC 165 Gracie Breakdown (video)
UFC 165 went down in spectacular fashion this past
weekend. The UFC Light Heavyweight
title fight between Jon Jones and Alexander Gustafsson is one that will be
talked about for many years to come.
Many fans are even going so far as to call it the greatest fight in the
history of MMA. That is a tough
title to hand out, but there is no doubt that it is a fight worth mentioning
among the all time greats. We can now
all look forward to a certain rematch between Jon Jones and Alexander
Gustafsson. Both of these guys
will be around for many years to come.
Although the rest of the UFC 165 fight card was largely
overshadowed by the main event, there were many other beautiful displays of
mixed martial arts throughout the card.
In the heavyweight battle between Matt Mitrione and Brendan Schaub we
got to see a bit of history as well.
Schaub submitted Mitrione with a beautiful d’arce choke. It was the first ever d’arce choke
submission in the history of the UFC Heavyweight division. As always, Rener Gracie has given us a
detailed analysis of the submission in the latest episode of the Gracie
Breakdown. These videos are a
great way to get a more technical look at the BJJ aspects of the UFC fights. Watch this video to learn how and why
Brendan Schaub was able to put Mitrione to sleep with the d’arce choke. This is worthwhile knowledge for all
martial artists.
