IBJJF Pro League Final: Romulo vs. Galvao
This past weekend while everyone was glued to the television
watching the UFC on FOX 5 there was a much lesser known, but equally
impressive martial arts competition going on in Long Beach, California. The International Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu
Federation (IBJJF) held its inaugural Pro League tournament featuring some of
the world’s best Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu competitors. For any one with a basic understanding of Brazilian
Jiu-Jitsu the opportunity to watch these guys compete is inspiring. It is a martial arts chess match.
In one of the more high profile bouts of the tournament
Romulo Barral took on Andre Galvao. Barral is a 3 time BJJ World Champion (Black Belt) as well as
a 1 time No Gi World Champion.
Galvao is a 2 time BJJ World Champion (Black Belt) and in 2011 won the
prestigious ADCC Submission Wrestling World Championship. As expected, these guys put on a
masterful display of BJJ and showed the world why they are two of the best in
the sport today. Check out the
