Weekend MMA Fix
This weekend’s dose of mixed martial arts will come via UFC
on FUEL TV 5, an event which features some very interesting match ups among
some of the UFC’s rising stars. In
the main event of the evening, undefeated heavyweight prospect Stipe Miocic
will face off against the very talented and tall (2.12m) Stefan Struve. Although only 24 years old this will be
Struve’s 12th time inside the Octagon, and he believes he is ready to
contend for a title. Miocic will
have to find an answer for Struve’s incredible reach, which is tied for the
longest in the UFC with Jon Jones.
Another interesting one to keep an eye on is the lightweight
match up between Paul Sass and Matt Wiman. Paul Sass is 13-0 with 12 wins by submission, 9 of which
were via triangle choke. In Wiman,
Sass is up against a gritty wrestler who has yet to be submitted in 20
professional outings.
Although these guys aren’t yet pay per view headlining
fighters, a few of them may be in the very near future.
